R&D UK GOVERNMENT SCHEME

RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT (R&D) TAX RELIEF SCHEME

In 2000, the UK Government developed a scheme that rewards businesses for their innovation. We work with a partner company and their Subject Matter Experts (SME) to identify eligible activity; a tailored report is then subsequently written, and a claim is then submitted to HMRC for the maximum amount possible.

We help businesses that have:

Designed or developed a new product, process or prototype

Improved or redesigned an existing product

Produced or integrated innovative software

Integrated environmentally friendly products and processes

Made improvements through innovation

REPURPOSE LAND FOR FUTURE USE

LAND REMEDIATION RELIEF

Land Remediation Relief is a form of corporation tax relief which enables businesses to claim up to 150% of the cost of cleaning up and repurposing contaminated land or buildings. We work with our partner company to analyse their costs and maximise their claim value.

We help businesses that have:

Removed buried structures

Treated harmful organisms

Removed contaminated soil or water

Treated invasive plants (such as Japanese Knotweed)

ANSWERING YOUR QUESTIONS

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

R&D tax credits are a government incentive that lets qualifying companies recover some of what they spend on research and development, either as a reduction in Corporation Tax or a cash payment. Eligibility depends on whether your work meets HMRC’s definition of R&D, which we help assess before any claim is made.

A business may qualify if it has worked to resolve scientific or technological uncertainty, for example developing or improving products, processes or software where the solution was not readily available. Many companies assume they do not qualify when they may, so it is worth checking with a specialist, particularly as HMRC now scrutinises claims closely.

A claim identifies your qualifying activity and costs, then documents them to HMRC’s standards so the relief can be assessed. Because HMRC has tightened its review of R&D claims, an accurate, well-evidenced submission matters more than ever, which is why specialist support helps.

A business interruption claim seeks compensation, often under a business’s insurance, for losses caused by an interruption to trading. We work with a partner to help eligible businesses claim what they may be owed. Whether you have a valid claim depends on your policy and circumstances.
